"This is a picture I took a few weeks ago near my parents’ house. It shows wind turbines in a lovely black forest winter landscape. I know the region very well from my childhood. There is not much industry and the only farming activity is basically animal husbandry and forestry. Over the years, I could follow how this place is slowly changing. First, with more and more photovoltaics and biogas fired power plants. Later, these wind turbines were built. I remember lively discussions of people who I know, both in favor and against the project. This picture reminds me that the energy transition changes many places and all of them have a particular meaning to the people who live there."
